Basket – Bread Bags

A medium sized upcycled basket made from ‘plastic fabric’ that can be used for storage or as a waste paper basket.
The ‘fabric’ has been stitched to make the basket, including a woven design on the front.
The sides of the basket have a double layer with cardboard added to the bottom to create a firm basket.

Materials used: bread bags, mailing bags & cardboard

Approx. size: Height 22cm x 16cm diameter

This item is made from ‘plastic fabric’ which I make from a variety of plastic packaging; bread bags, bubble wrap, toilet tissue wrappers, dry cleaner bags, plastic mailing bags, etc. The plastic is either woven or just layered and pressed flat with a hot iron causing the plastic to melt enough to create a ‘fabric’ which is strong enough to be stitched.
