A mixed media piece which has bought cotton fabric, hand dyed cotton and silk fabrics, Gelli printed cotton fabric and cotton ribbon to form a collage. The Gelli prints have stitch added to emphasise the patterns that I printed on them. Hand and machine stitching was used. I then added some beads and sequins to the focal image.Extra threads were couched on to add to the texture.The piece has been sealed using a matt medium and is attached to a canvas. It measures 23 x 31 cm

I am a mixed media artist with an interest in all things fabric and I have enjoyed mixing fabric with paper. I started off many years ago with a lot of paper arts and crafts but as I got older I became more interested in fabric and embroidery. I completed as City and Guilds course ‘Design and Craft – Stitched Textiles (embroidery) in 2013 and I am a qualified teacher. I am a member of the Embroiderers’ Guild and I have taught many workshops within the Guild, as well as my own workshops within a craft centre in our local town. This has also included children and vulnerable adults.
