Labradorite Bare Copper Wirework Bracelet.
Will fit – from a 7 inch wrist
(8 inches if you want it as a cuff style)
The Labradorite is approximately 3.5cm by 2.5cm.
The Gemstone is darker than it looks in the photos and has a gorgeous blue labradorescence that goes across the stone. I have added a photo at the end to show what it’s like. My lightbox washed it out a bit on the other photos.
Labradorite is a plagioclase feldspar mineral famous for labradorescence, which is a striking optical effect where light reflects off internal microscopic layers to produce vibrant, iridescent flashes of blue, green, gold, and violet. It has a Mohs hardness of 6 to 6.5, making it popular for jewellery.
Discovered in 1770 on Paul’s Island in Labrador, Canada (from which it gets its name), the stone has deep roots in Inuit mythology. Legend holds that the Northern Lights were trapped inside the stone until a warrior freed most of them with a spear, leaving a few celestial colors behind in the rocks.
Bare copper jewellery is made from unplated, uncoated 100% pure copper. Highly favored in artisanal and wire-wrapped designs, it is incredibly malleable. Because it lacks a protective seal, it naturally oxidizes and develops a rustic patina over time.
Many people wear bare copper jewellery directly against their skin due to longstanding traditions and holistic beliefs that it can help ease joint stiffness and provide antimicrobial benefits.
