Last updated: 1 January 2026
1. These terms
These are the terms and conditions on which we supply our handmade goods to you through our website Mademe (the “Site”) or by email/phone order.
Please read them carefully before placing an order. By placing an order you agree to be bound by these terms.
2. Information about us

3. Our products
All items are handmade to a high standard by ourselves (or our small team).
Because items are handmade, there may be minor variations in colour, size, shape, weight or finish compared to photographs or descriptions on the Site. These variations are not defects.
Images are for illustrative purposes only. Actual colours may vary due to screen settings and lighting.
4. Ordering and contract formation
When you place an order, you make an offer to buy the goods.
We will confirm receipt of your order by email (Order Confirmation).
A contract is formed only when we send you a second email accepting your order and confirming that the goods are being prepared/dispatched (Order Acceptance / Dispatch Confirmation).
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order (e.g. due to pricing error, stock issues, suspected fraud).
5. Pricing and payment
All prices are in British Pounds (£) and include VAT at the prevailing rate (where applicable).
Prices exclude delivery charges, which are shown separately during checkout.
We accept payment by Stripe (THe sites method)
Payment must be received in full before we dispatch goods (unless otherwise agreed).
If we discover a pricing error on the Site, we may cancel the order and refund you, or contact you to confirm whether you wish to proceed at the correct price.
6. Delivery
We aim to dispatch orders within 3–7 working days of Order Acceptance.
Delivery times are estimates only and we are not liable for delays caused by the carrier or events beyond our reasonable control.
Risk in the goods passes to you upon delivery.
Ownership of the goods remains with us until full payment is received.
If delivery is unsuccessful after reasonable attempts, we may cancel the order and refund you (minus reasonable costs).
7. Your right to cancel (Cooling-off period)
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you normally have 14 days after receiving the goods to change your mind and cancel the contract. You must inform us in writing (email is fine) within this period.
Important exceptions – no right to cancel for the following goods (reg. 28):
Personalised or custom-made items made to your specifications
Made-to-order handmade items
Goods sealed for health protection/hygiene reasons once unsealed (e.g. earrings, certain wearable items)
For non-excepted items:
You must return the goods to us within 14 days of telling us you wish to cancel
You pay the cost of return postage (unless the goods are faulty/incorrect)
We will refund the price of the goods (including standard delivery costs) within 14 days of receiving the returned items.
Refunds are made by the original payment method
8. Faulty, incorrect or misdescribed goods (Your statutory rights)
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Goods must be:
as described
of satisfactory quality
fit for purpose
Short-term right to reject (up to 30 days from delivery): full refund if goods are faulty.
After 30 days, you may be entitled to repair, replacement, price reduction or refund depending on circumstances.
Please contact us as soon as possible if you believe there is a fault.
Proof of purchase and photographs of the issue are necessarily. We take photo's of the products before dispatching.
9. Our liability
We only supply goods for domestic/private use. We have no liability for any commercial/business use.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death/personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any matter that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to the above, our total liability to you is limited to the price paid for the goods.
10. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform due to events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure) e.g. strikes, extreme weather, supplier failure.
11. Intellectual property
All designs, photographs, descriptions and content on the Site remain our property (or licensed to us). You may not reproduce or use them without permission.
12. Complaints
We hope you will be delighted with your purchase. If you have any complaint, please contact us first.
If we cannot resolve the issue, you can use the Online Dispute Resolution platform (https://ec.europa.eu/odr) or contact your local Trading Standards office.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force at the time you place your order applies.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
