A cute Wee Kiltie Backpack in MacLeod Tartan
Lots of fine pleats adorn the front of this square shaped bag. The material is a wool/polyester mix that makes it light and uncrushable. The beautiful green cotton lining is by French designer Odile Bailloeul from her Landart collection. The hemming around the kilt is completed by hand using Beresford quality tartan ribbon for that wee bit of class! There is an internal pocket, zip closure and, of course, a tassel. Although not in photographs it has a Celtic style kilt pin. The back straps are adjustable to suit.

I am Scottish and live in Angus and have been sewing all my life. It was only when I retired a couple of years ago that I started my journey into bag making. Started with cotton quilted make up bags, spectacle cases, whale pencil cases and now the tartan bags. A passion for fabric I never use a pattern but layout my fabric and the design in my head starts its creation. Therefore everything I make is individual and I love changing designs as I go, sometimes not knowing what the result might be, but normally it works out well! I always strive for perfection in all that I do which is almost nigh impossible, but I really to take the time and effort to makeit has good as it can be. The ultimate fabric for me is the tartan of Scotland. I love the watching the kilts swinging as the pipers move, to me the wave of the pleats is magical.
