Zigzag Amethyst on Turquoise Macramé Style Bracelet

This zigzag macramé style bracelet is handmade using natural amethyst beads on turquoise coloured knotting cord. The bracelet fastens using an 18k gold-plated brass toggle clasp.

The bracelet has a total length of 19cm and a width of approximately 1.2cm.

What I personally enjoy about wearing gemstone/ crystal is that there is an additional element of wearing jewellery to promote a specific purpose, based on the properties of the crystal and what influence you would like to bring into your day or a specific situation. Whether you believe in the healing power of crystals, or not, perhaps the power of intention is enough to influence and focus our subconscious mind towards a specific aim.

With this in mind, amethyst gets its name from the Greek word ‘Amethystos’ meaning no intoxication. I once heard amethyst could reduce the rate at which you get drunk, but I haven’t tested this! More generally it is associated with cleansing qualities. It is said to have spiritually enhancing properties, aiding in intuition and gratitude.

Be aware that if left in sunlight amethyst will fade overtime.
