Festive Faces: Hallowe’en – Alien

The Festive Faces are here! Companions to the Friendly Faces, these cute characters are an adorable way for little ones to get into the festive spirit of Hallowe’en, Christmas and Chinese New Year!

It’s never too early to plan for Hallowe’en! Sure it’s usually Christmas people like to start preparing for several months in advance, but personally, I prefer Hallowe’en. More fun, better movies and the perfect excuse to eat lots of chocolate!

Do you believe in aliens? Do you think they’ve ever visited us? Do you think they ever will? Personally, I think there must be more life out there in the universe, it’s pretty massive after all. Rather than the typical grey figures with big eyes, or little green men with, or monsters with tentacles, I tried to make this alien a little different but not too weird! Hopefully you find the goofy eyes and silly smile as cute as I do! Hand knit in cosy acrylic yarn and available in a range of bright colours.

While acrylic fibres can release microplastics into the environment, wool and cotton yarns aren’t always the best choice for items meant for babies and toddlers. Wool fibres are brittle and easily broken. These wool fibres can then be inhaled and settle in the lungs causing breathing problems for very young children. Cotton is great for light weight clothing made for warmer weather, but it is quite rough against sensitive skin compared to acrylic and blended yarns designed for babies. To help combat the problem of microfibres I would suggest washing clothes made with acrylic yarn in a laundry bag to catch the fibres. If in doubt please consult your doctor or child healthcare professional.
